Chris Guy (aka Toff), TT Racer 1980 period. He will show videos of himself racing and talk about his life in the 'fast lane.'

Toff has travelled extensively and lived 'large.'

Chris lives in Phuket, Rawai and has for 5 years. He is an avid skier, squash player and sportsman. He has broken more bones I bet than the whole room combined.

He is a gentleman who has exceeded and succeeded at everything he does and like all great athletes is very modest.

An interesting talk, discussion will be had by all. In addition, we will have our famous lunch, good laughs and teasing each other.

Many fun talks before the meeting.
PP Denis was thanked again for his bulletins.....well and very appreciated.

PP Arnaud asked members and chairs for their comments.

PP OB updated us with the upcoming Charity Drive April 19-21 :
The OBOPEN7 Tennis and Gala Dinner fest with 3 days of games, fun and food.

We have organised a weekend of tennis over Easter weekend.

This year, I have simplified the OBOPEN7 a lot regarding logistics, and we have simplified the event re: the Saturday Night Rotary Charity GALA.

The Gala on Saturday night will be the principle money maker for RCoPB charity.

Included in the 10,000Thb price for the door, will be free flow booze and food and
A PREPAID DONATION FROM EACH SEAT.  As I tie down the costs of dinner and wine and venue, I will know more how much that donation per head will be.

I will announce it on the night of course.

Also, on the night, there will be no raffles, but there will be silent and a few live auction items.  The event is going for quality and not quantity.

NOTE: THAT VISITORS and LOCALS and ROTARIANS  ALIKE CAN PURCHASE ANY OF THE FOUR PACKAGES ON LINE:
1. 13 HOURS OF TENNIS
2. KA JOK SEE, ADULT PARTY FRIDAY NIGHT
3. SATURDAY NIGHT WHITE WATER CHARITY PARTY
4. MARGHERITA PARTY ON SUNDAY AT 1:30
Thank you OB ed Denis

The table was then opened to talks:

PP Sam mentioned we still need all members to commit to Polio Eradication. All remaining members are entreated to donate Bht 3,200 (USD 100) for this great cause. We are almost there apart from just a few members of the RCoPB left.

Then we moved to discussions about our RCoPB meetings:

How to
  • Get more members to attend
  • Get more people to join the club
  • Make it more fun in the club for members
Actions to be taken
  • Make phone calls to get members to attend meetings
  • Get more guests speakers
  • Move the lunch meetings to back to dinner meetings                                         The board will decide to leave it on Fridays or another weekday
Maybe to have meetings when there is a reason/ interest/ fun/ agenda instead of the mandatory weekly meeting
  • To move some weekly RCoPB meetings to different parts of the island instead of just Patong, due to various reasons: traffic/monotony/engagement of possible new members /explore new venues/change /fun
  • Board Meetings to coincide with weekly meetings and dinner outs, perhaps 30-60 minutes before/after.
  • To have Club Business at the start of every dinner out to impart knowledge to guests and members of RCoPB projects and vision.

Reporter's note for future historians :
A normal weekly meeting attended without any agenda turns out to be quite an event and will bring about huge changes to the future of RCoPB...........serendipity.
